Happy New School Year!

I just saw a cute Mini Wheats commercial and made me think of that title. Too funny!

I don't know about you, but I am so excited about Back to School! It means my kids will be busy and not complaining about being bored! :)  I love being with them, but I think they get tired of me!  I also love being home and getting to plan what I am going to cook and then leisurely cooking instead of rushing to make dinner. Well, God has called me to teach Kindergarten, so I plan to do it with all my heart, soul and mind! I do love the little ones, even if I am exhausted the first few months. Just pray for all us teachers!

This school year I have already started getting ready by attending a great workshop on Monday and going to set up my room this week.

As I have been setting up my classroom, I have been googling for ideas. I came across this great website: Teaching Heart Mom. Here is a link to her website at  http://www.teachingheart.net/or her blogsite at http://teachingheartmom.blogspot.com/ . You can also catch her on Facebook:

She is also having a contest. If you are a teacher, check her out! :)

Ty did tell his GranMom that "Summer was too long and he couldn't wait for school to start!"  So cute!

Ally is starting Middle School, and I can not figure out who is more nervous, her or me?  Say a prayer for both of us! :)

Until next time! Have a blessed wonderful day! :)

Teaching Heart Mom

Teaching Heart Mom

If you are a teacher, check out this blog site. Pretty cool!

The Ener Family

Hi all! Welcome to The Ener's family page!

We have had a great Summer! We started the Summer with Ty spending a week at GrandMom's and Daddy-O's house. They brought him back just in time for his birthday party - Pirates oh my!

The next 2 weeks Ally and Ty started swimming lessons. Ally became a stronger swimmer and Ty finally learned to swim! It was so exciting to actually watch my 5 year old swim! I am a happy and proud Mom of my two fish!

July came and we spent a week at Lake Toledo Bend. It was fun to watch the kids have so much fun. The fireworks were beautiful over the water! The next week was Vacation Bible School. I taught 1st and 2nd graders like I do every year and the kids had so much fun! Ally and Ty love VBS and this year was no different. This year's theme was Saddle Ridge Ranch and the kids had fun being cowgirls and cowboys. Ty is still pretending he is a cowboy! He now wants me to buy him some boots! Lets see how long that lasts! :)

Ally had her first lock-in at church as a future 6th grader. She was scared at first, but ended up really enjoying herself. Thank you Cindy and Elaine for sponsoring this great event! Ally next went and spent a week at GrandMom's and Daddy-O's house. She had fun and was spoiled (but in a good way!)

Todd and I ended the month going to Baton Rouge for my 40th birthday. What fun that town is! LSU has a beautiful campus. (Yes I still bleed Maroon!) We first went to the old Louisiana State Capital. It looks like an old castle. Because it was built on the Mississippi river, they built the ground up high. It was a beautiful building. Next, we drove to a plantation home - the Nottoway. It was beautiful! We also visited the USS Kidd - an old WW2 war ship. Finally, we went out to eat. We thought about going to a local bar, but I guess I am getting too old - we just decided to walk around and enjoy the beauty of downtown Baton Rouge and the Mississippi River.

August brought me and Ally to Highland Lakes Camp on Lake Travis in Austin. It was a beautiful and exciting camp. I help watch 7 girls and had fun. I even went down a zip line! Ally is already talking about camp next year and Ty is really jealous of his big sister!

Now it is back to school time. Ty will be an Apple at Presbyterian and Ally will be entering the 6th grade. My how my babies have grown! Will have to post pictures of their first day of school!
